All our Classes

Nicky has developed her own unique Core Strength & Flexibility Classes using her skills as a Personal Trainer alongside her experience of treating Soft Tissue and Joint injuries. 

The primary goal is to enhance both strength and flexibility, which can improve posture, prevent injuries, support better movement in daily activities, and enhance performance in sports or other physical pursuits. Core strength classes are suitable for all fitness levels, with modifications provided to accommodate different abilities or injuries.

Classes incorporate a variety of exercises focusing on balanced and controlled movement in standing, plus floor exercises and finally spending time on mobility and stretching to unwind at the end of the class. Minimal equipment is needed, as most exercises either use body weight or small weights or bands, often household objects can be substituted!  

 

With small class sizes- even on Zoom - Nicky can closely monitor participants and provide any individual corrections as needed.

Classes schedule (via  Zoom):                                   

  • Mondays 6pm and 7pm                             

  • Saturdays 8:45am                                            

 

Cost:

  • £11/class (pay-as-you-go)

  • £9/class with a block booking

Nicky also offers a 1-1 Personal Training service focusing on movement and exercise to manage pain or injuries, or to increase flexibility. These sessions can either be conducted at the clinic for one-off sessions, or a regular sessions on Zoom, or home visits may be possible by arrangement.

Costs:

  • £40/hour for clinic sessions, including a personalised home plan.

  • £35 for Zoom sessions, discounts for block bookings.

  • £40-50 hour for home visits.

James teaches Awareness Through Movement classes using the Feldenkrais Method.

Awareness Through Movement (ATM) classes are a core component of the Feldenkrais Method, designed to enhance physical functioning and self-awareness. In these classes, participants are guided through a series of gentle, structured movements, often performed lying down, sitting, or standing. The movements are designed to encourage exploration of different patterns of motion, prompting participants to pay close attention to how they move, breathe, and feel.

The goal is to develop a deeper understanding of habitual movement patterns, identify unnecessary tension or effort, and discover new, more efficient ways of moving. Through this process, participants can enhance flexibility, coordination, balance, and overall body awareness, leading to improvements in daily activities, physical performance, and overall well-being. The classes are accessible to people of all ages and physical abilities, promoting a sense of ease and comfort in movement.

Classes are taught regularly on Zoom, which is an ideal way to experience the method as participants only need to follow verbal instructions - no need to watch the teacher, or have any technological ability!  James also hosts regular afternoon workshops, with a series of 3 or 4 linked classes centred around a theme, with a bonus of homemade cake!
